The California priority deadline for filing a FAFSA and CADAA is typically March 2nd. If you filed a FAFSA or CADAA after the due date you may have limited eligibility for Financial Aid programs including University Grant, Cal Grant, or Work-Study. If you have special circumstances which prevented you from filing a FAFSA or CADAA by the priority deadline you are encouraged to file an On-Time Status Appeal in order to be awarded as if you were an on-time applicant.
Students selected for verification are required to submit those documents by the deadline listed on their checklist. If you are one of those students and you missed your deadline you can also submit an On-Time Status appeal to be re-considered for all aid once you have turned in all of your documents and they have been verified.
Please Note: This appeal can be submitted multiple times during your time at UC Merced, but will only be approved once. Appeals will only be reviewed if funding is available. This appeal may not be reviewed before instruction begins. You will need to decide whether or not you will attend UC Merced based on the financial aid you have already been awarded. An approval of this appeal may result in an adjustment of your current financial aid offer.
How to Apply
The On-Time Status Appeal for 2024-2025 will open July 1st.
