Mandatory EAP Workshop

Due to the nature of study abroad, all students who are receiving financial aid and studying abroad are required to attend an EAP Financial Aid session.

The purpose of the EAP session is to provide EAP students the information and explanation of the administration of financial aid while studying abroad.  Topics to be covered include:

  • General eligibility for aid
  • Explanation of their financial aid award and how it meets their educational costs
  • Disbursement of aid
  • Verification of financial resources for VISA approval
  • Communicating with OFAS while abroad
  • The role of UOEAP
  • Withdrawing from the program and costs associated with withdrawal
  • Disclosure of financial aid information to family members
  • Completion of the financial aid forms for the following academic year
  • Satisfactory academic progress
  • Power of Attorney

All study aborad students will be required to complete the EAP Financial Aid Checklist on their student checklist. Students who do not complete the requirement or attend a counseling session may have their aid disbursements delayed.
