Welcome to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at UC Merced!

Focusing in on Lab Work

Our goal is to make a college education affordable for all students regardless of their families' financial situations. While students are expected to contribute a certain amount toward their education, UC Merced offers a number of financial aid and scholarship resources available to assist students in meeting educational expenses.

This Web site is designed to help students and parents understand the financial aid opportunities and criteria utilized in determining eligibility for various financial aid programs that are available at UC Merced. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships welcomes your questions and the opportunity to provide services and guidance that will contribute to your educational experiences at UC Merced.

2008-09 Federal School Code: 041271

2007-08 Federal School Code: 001313*

*Please note that for the 2007-08 academic year, UC Merced has a formal relationship with UC Davis that allows us to share a Federal School Code. This means that if a student lists the 001313 Federal School Code on the FAFSA, the information will be routed to UC Merced and/or UC Davis appropriately. If the student has applied to both UC Merced and UC Davis, the federal school code needs to be entered only once on the FAFSA.

* Also note that Cal Grant award letters coming directly from the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC), will list UC Davis as the school of attendance for all UC Merced students. Students can submit a Grant Record Change form (G-10) to CSAC to list UC Merced as school of attendance. If the student is eligible for a Cal Grant at UC Merced, the award will transfer and the student will receive an updated communication from CSAC. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
