Students meeting the eligibility requirements to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will need to do so for the upcoming academic year by March 2. If you have already received Cal Grant funds, your Cal Grant is automatically considered for renewal when you file your FAFSA by the March 2nd priority deadline.
Students meeting the eligibility requirements to file the California Dream Act Application will need to do so for the upcoming academic year by March 2nd.
If you've never had a Cal Grant before and have completed a total of at least 24 units at UC Merced by the end of the Fall semester prior to the March 2nd deadline, UC Merced will automatically transmit your GPA to the California Student Aid Commission CSAC) for Cal Grant consideration.
If you have completed less than 24 UC Merced units by the end of the Fall semester, request that your prior school submit your Cal Grant GPA requirement to CSAC by March 2nd.
You must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards to receive state, federal and university aid.
